Brahma

  • In Hinduism, Brahma is the god of creation.

  • Brahma is one of the Trimurti, the Hindu trinity, the others being Vishnu, the maintainer or preserver, and Shiva, the destroyer or transformer.

  • Brahma wears red clothes, and is traditionally depicted with four heads, four faces, and four arms. He may also be shown with a white (or occasionally black) beard, which is a sign of the eternal nature of his existence. Each of Brahma's four heads continually recites the Vedas, and in his hands he holds a scepter, a book, a string of prayer beads which uses to keep track of time in the universe, and the Vedas.

  • According to Hindu tradition, Brahma created the Vedas (the oldest Hindu scriptures).

  • Brahma's wife is Sarasvati.

  • Since Sarasvati is Vaac Devi (the Goddess of Speech), Brahmas is also known as "Vaagish", which means the "Lord of Speech and Sound".

  • According to the Brahma Purana, Brahma is father of Manu, and all human beings are descended from Manu.

  • In the ancient Indian epics Ramayana and Mahabharata, Brahma is often referred to as the great grandsire of all human beings.

  • This Hindu God Brahma Seated On Lotus figurine stands at 8" tall, 5.75" long and 4.75" deep approximately.
  • This statue depicts Hindu God Brahma with four heads, four faces and four arms seated on Lotus. He is shown as having four arms, with none holding a weapon, unlike most other Hindu Gods. One of his hands is shown holding a scepter in the form of a spoon, which is associated with the pouring of holy ghee or oil into a sacrificial pyre - indicating the fact that Brahma is the lord of sacrifices. Another of his hands holds a water-pot (sometimes depicted as a coconut shell containing water).
  • This is an Atlantic Collectibles exclusive collection.
Product Description:
Brahma (/ˈbrəmɑː/; Brahmā) is the creator god in the Trimurti of Hinduism. He has four faces, looking in the four directions.[1] Brahma is also known as Svayambhu (self-born),[5] Vāgīśa (Lord of Speech), and the creator of the four Vedas, one from each of his mouths.[1][6] Brahma is identified with the Vedic god Prajapati, as well as linked to Kama and Hiranyagarbha (the cosmic egg),[7][8] he is more prominently mentioned in the post-Vedic Hindu epics and the mythologies in the Puranas. In the epics, he is conflated with Purusha.[1] Brahma, along with Vishnu and Shiva, is part of a Hindu Trinity, however, ancient Hindu texts mention other trinities of gods or goddesses which does not include Brahma.[9][10][note 1] While Brahma is often credited as the creator of the universe and various beings in it, several Puranas describe him being born from a lotus emerging from the navel of the god Vishnu. Other Puranas suggest that he is born from Shiva or his aspects,[12] or he is a supreme god in diverse versions of Hindu mythology.[7] Brahma, along with Vishnu and Shiva, is also viewed as a different form of Brahman, the ultimate formless metaphysical reality and cosmic soul in Hinduism.

Product Description:
A glance at virtually any Indian sculpture reveals that Indian sculptors were really not infatuated with factually accurate Anatomical descriptions of the male or female form. • Brahma statue in brass
  • Weight: 1 KG
  • Crafted in India
Product Description:
The Trimurti ('three forms') is a concept in Hinduism "in which the cosmic functions of creation, maintenance, and destruction are personified by the forms of Brahma the creator, Vishnu the maintainer or preserver, and Shiva the destroyer or transformer." These three deities have been called "the Hindu triad" or the "Great Trinity". They are often looked at as the creator, preserver and destroyer respectively. One type of depiction for the Trimurti shows three heads on one neck, and often even three faces on one head, each looking in a different direction. The Trimurti is the representation of the three projections of the Supreme Reality, each with a specific cosmic function. These manifestations are that of Brahma serving the cosmic function of creation, Vishnu serving the cosmic function of renewal and preservation, and Shiva serving the cosmic function of dissolution or destruction that precedes re-creation - the three popular Hindu gods. Our daily existence reflects these three cosmic functions as birth, life and death. The trinity is interpreted in various forms in Hindu philosophy. A widely accepted belief is that it represents earth, water, and fire. The earth, or Brahma, is seen as the originator of all life and hence is regarded as the Creator. Water is the sustainer of life and hence is the Preserver and is represented as Vishnu. Fire destroys life and hence is the Destroyer and is represented as Shiva.
